Protests against poaching and bird hunting
Protest actions and petitions can be an important instrument in nature and animal protection. With signature collections, postcard and letter campaigns or protest mails; one can put relevant campaign issues under the spotlight and draw the attention of politicians both at home and abroad. Often, they are a door opener, in order to initiate contact and dialogue with big decision makers.
The Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS) has successfully used such protest petitions in the past. Unfortunately, nowadays with so many large online protest platforms, it is hardly possible to accurately and affectively place a campaign. The vast majority of e-petition campaigns are usually launched privately without proper consultation and therefore - although well-intentioned - without the necessary background knowledge, making online petitions a bit of a dull sword.
We have therefore decided to only resort to the means of protest on very special occasions where success seems possible. We increasingly rely on sending individually written letters or case reports to selected decision makers, which are by far more effective than vacant prefabricated messages.
We currently do not have any protest petitions. Please check back here for any future updates and/or subscribe to our CABS newsletter, which will keep you up to date with the latest bird guard news, as soon as an action starts.
