Poaching Hotspots

Italy is the country in Europe with the highest number of confirmed cases of poaching. In no other EU member state are so many people illegally stalking birds, nowhere else are so many different illegal trapping methods used. However, poaching and bird-trapping are not evenly distributed across the country. Today, the hot spots of illegalities can be found along the main migration routes and in the wintering areas of migratory birds.

Brescia 

In the mountains of Brescia - situated between Lake Garda and Lake Iseo - more than 20,000 people hunt birds with shotguns, traps and nets.
