Research and Lobbying
Research and lobbying are necessary for uncovering the reality of the situation and changing laws
Over the years, we have gathered a significant amount of data on poaching and legal hunting in Europe and the Mediterranean basin. We use this information to ensure that our work against poaching is as effective as possible.
With our research and publications on hunting bags in Europe, we have recently been able to show the extent of legal bird hunting for the first time. After a first publication in 2005, we were able to present new figures in 2017, which created a basis for discussion on the changes required for European hunting regulations.
We attach great importance to the scientific publication of data from our work in relevant journals (e.g. British Birds). Whether it is with regard to the persecution of birds of prey in Germany, the hunting of Lesser spotted eagles in Lebanon or legal hunting bags in Europe, our findings are accessible to the professional and academic world and permanently available.
We have also made contacts with relevant authorities, local nature conservation NGOs, bird specialists and we are familiar with regional legislation. We are also in constant contact with the responsible authorities and important decision-makers in Brussels, Rome, Valletta, Beirut and Berlin.
