Sardinia: 7 bird trappers caught red-handed
A CABS bird protection camp has taken place between mid to late February 2021 in Sardinia. Many migratory birds come to over-winter on the Italian Mediterranean island which in turns attracts the attention of bird poachers. They mainly catch thrushes, robins and warblers with nets and horsehair snares. As a result of our field investigations, 7 poachers were convicted by the police; 235 horsehair snares, 47 spring traps, 5 wire snares (for mammals) and 3 nets were seized.
