International Women's Day at CABS.
Not only on today's International Women's Day we would like to celebrate all our female staff and volunteers for the great work they do in our anti-poaching operations. During the actions, which are not always without risk, they work courageously for better protection of our migratory birds and at the same time fight against prejudices and discrimination. For us, equality is just as much a part of a better future as an end to migratory bird hunting and bird trapping: among the 324 poachers we caught last year, only two were women - that is just 0.6% of all those caught! Poaching is evidentially a male domain and women are more inclined to protect, rather than pursue our migratory birds. Furthermore, 7 of the 15 staff members employed by CABS are women and they also make up more than half of all our volunteer participants.
