Results of our operations on Cyprus

A 'young' operation with a long way to go

In the five year time frame 2008 - 2015 we have already located and dismantled more than 500 mist nets on Cyprus (the photo shows a net with a trapped  Olivaceous Warbler)In the five year time frame 2008 - 2015 we have already located and dismantled more than 500 mist nets on Cyprus (the photo shows a net with a trapped Olivaceous Warbler)In the years 2001 to 2004 members of our Italian partner organisation LAC carried out small scale bird protection operations on Cyprus with financial support from CABS. They located and dismantled a total of some 3,000 limesticks and 40 mist nets in this period.

CABS has conducted large scale bird protection camps with international participation since 2008. In 2008 and 2009 only spring bird protection camps took place - from 2010 onwards these have been complemented with autumn operations.
