Egregio Signor Ministro,

ogni anno in Lombardia e Veneto viene autorizzata la caccia in deroga a centinaia di migliaia di piccoli uccelli protetti in tutta l'Unione europea: fringuelli, peppole, pispole, prispoloni e frosoni. Le deroghe vengono disciplinate apposta da permettere ai cacciatori veri e propri massacri di milioni di uccelli migratori. Per questa ragione Le chiedo che a nome del nuovo governo italiano Lei intervenga perchè in futuro le Regioni non possano più abusare di questo strumento legislativo e si ponga così definitivamente fine all'illegalità della caccia in deroga. Gli uccelli migratori sono un patrimonio naturale di tutti i cittadini europei e non devono venire sacrificati per il piacere di una minoranza di cacciatori.

in der Lombardei und in Venetien werden in jedem Jahr Hunderttausende nach EU-Recht eigentlich geschützte Finken, Kernbeißer und Pieper zum Abschuss freigegeben. Die Jäger nutzen diese Befreiungen regelmäßig zu wahren Massakern an den Zugvögeln. Ich möchte Sie eindringlich bitten, von Seiten der neuen italienischen Regierung klar gegen diese illegalen Jagdfreigaben der Regionen vorzugehen und sie künftig schon vor Jagdbeginn für nichtig zu erklären. Unsere Zugvögel sind ein gemeinsames Naturerbe aller Europäer und dürfen nicht für die Jagdfreuden einer Minderheit geopfert werden.

Dear Minister,

Every year hundreds of thousands of finches and pipits, protected under EU legislation, are illegally declared huntable by regional governments in Lombardy and Veneto. The hunters use this abuse of the law to regularly conduct a literal massacre of migrant bird species. I appeal to you urgently, as representative of the new Italian government, to take a clear position in respect of this illegal practice by regional governments and declare such special permissions null and void before the start of the annual hunting season. Our migrant bird species are a common natural resource of all Europeans and must not be sacrificed for the dubious pleasure of a minority.
